Buffalo Board

Buffalo Board is a great product for lining trailer beds, horse boxes and floors for platforms, sheds or staging. It is also used regularly for narrowboat decks and boat building.

A tough, phenolic coating protects and seals birch plywood with a slip resistant wire mesh pattern to the face. Genuine Buffalo Board is easily identifiable by the distinctive Buffalo logo on the underside of the board.

We have tried cheaper alternatives claiming to be equivalents to Buffalo Board; they simply just don’t cut the mustard. Coach builders and body workers alike prefer to use Buffalo Board for it’s superior performance and excellent durability.

We hold 12mm and 18mm boards in stock at our timber yard in Deddington.

Product Test

We often like to test how a product performs against the manufacturer’s claims.

Buffalo board is a premium product that is hard wearing and durable in adverse conditions with good water resistance. According to the manufacturer Buffalo board has a…

“Tough, weather-resistant coating suitable for exterior applications (provided any sawn edges are re-sealed)”

We thought it worthy of a test. One year ago (21 October 2019) we immersed a small piece of 12mm Buffalo board in a bucket of water and left it outside. We sealed the cut edges with an acrylic sealant, as recommended. One year later (October 2020) it is has not delaminated or deteriorated at all….that’s impressive.

This result demonstrates to us that the performance of Buffalo board is fantastic. It is perfectly suited for it’s intended applications with it’s exceptional durability and resilience.
